The client
Mountain Pass Solutions makes SmartPath, a software platform that helps colleges and universities manage faculty affairs. I’ve worked with them since 2018.
The challenge
The old website covered the basics but wasn’t converting the way it should. It offered little proof or reputation-building to earn a buyer’s trust, and it led with the company name, Mountain Pass, instead of the product customers actually buy, SmartPath. It also relied mostly on icons and abstract graphics, so there was nothing for the audience to connect with.
The solution
The typical SmartPath buyer is a seasoned university administrator, so I designed the site around people. New photography shows administrators like them, helping prospects see themselves and their colleagues using the product. I moved SmartPath forward in the messaging to build name recognition for the software itself.
To make the site feel more alive and memorable, I expanded the color palette and added a looping video header, animated buttons, and an eye-catching call to action. Every page now funnels visitors toward that CTA and the start of a sales conversation. The site is built on WordPress with WPBakery.
The result
The client approved the new design right away, and the whole team loved it, with very few revisions.
An ongoing partnership
Beyond the website, I’ve produced motion work for Mountain Pass, including a SmartPath product video that explains how one of the platform’s systems works.
