The client
Rising Together is a schoolwide mental health screening program that partners with schools and donors to identify at-risk youth early and connect them with support. It’s a partnership between Possibilities for Change, a nonprofit I’ve worked with since 2016, and J&B Virtual Solutions. I also designed the program’s co-branded logo.
The challenge
The flyer’s audience is schools considering the program, and it has to take a busy school leader from the problem, to the program, to real-world results in two pages. The hardest part was fitting the content. Rising Together’s outcome stats are updated regularly as new screening data comes in, so the layout had to hold today’s numbers while leaving room for tomorrow’s without a redesign each time.
The solution
I designed a two-page flyer in InDesign, delivered as a PDF so it’s easy to email and share. The layout moves the reader through a clear story, with stats set in prominent, flexible blocks that can be updated quickly as the numbers change.
Photography was just as important as the layout. I selected stock images to stay on brand: happy, healthy teens of the right age, dressed in bright colors, in candid poses that feel natural rather than staged. The images keep the focus on hope and on the students the program serves, balancing the serious subject matter with warmth.
The result
The flyer gives Rising Together a polished, easy-to-maintain sales piece for schools. Rising Together materials like this one have also been used with Ray of Hope, the foundation of NFL legend and program champion Ray Lewis.
