The client
Scoop that Poop is a pet waste removal service serving Berthoud and the surrounding Northern Colorado area. It’s a new business from the owner of Rallo’s Cleaning, created as a companion service to reach more customers in the same neighborhoods. After a successful rebrand for Rallo’s, he came back to me to build the new brand from scratch.
The challenge
Pet waste removal is a crowded local market, and most competitors use nearly the same logo: a simple outline of a dog on a patch of grass. The owner wanted something that looked nothing like that. His main advertising would be his work truck, so the logo needed to catch a driver’s eye at a stop light and communicate the service instantly.
The solution
The owner came to me with the idea for a mascot, and I brought it to life. The final character is a grinning dog in a work shirt, scooper in hand, ready for the job. He’s friendly, memorable, and tells people exactly what the business does without a second glance.
Because the logo would mostly be seen large, printed on the side of a truck, I built in much more detail than a typical small-business logo. The extra texture and character reward a closer look and help the mascot stand out from the flat outlines competitors use. I also developed the brand colors and typeface to complete the identity.
The result
Scoop that Poop launched with a brand that stands apart from every competitor in the area, giving a new business a friendly face customers remember.
